Phoebe Zoe Ho expresses the impact of a Stranger’s Touch through a series of homewares formed by casting impressions into cement. To be touched inadvertently suggests to be affected by an encounter in some way. Whether lived experiences are positive or negative, it is up to us to embrace these marks of intersection as opportunities for growth and change. For this series, cement, wet and shapeless, has been rendered by touch to assume forms that are functional. Biomorphic forms prop books up and embrace remnants of a day. These forms aim to present visually the plasticity of the human mind in adapting and responding to encounters.
